ADA Compliance

Create forms fit for everyone.

With Cognito Forms, you can create universally accessible online forms. Simply combine our tools with your attention to detail, and your forms can work equally well for users at all ability levels.

Create more accessible forms

Our low-code builder provides features that enable you to create forms in ways that are accessible to all users.

  • Add meta data to images
  • Create large, high-contrast text and controls
  • Choose multiple (non-dropdown) options for choice fields

Our platform also automatically aids accessibility for those using assistive technology. These include:

  • Keyboard controls to navigate and complete form fields
  • Keyboard-enabled eSignatures.
  • Screen-reader-compatible controls and content

Meet WCAG standards

Our platform and website abide by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). These are generally accepted around the world, and the standards you should follow when creating forms.

The WCAG four principles of accessibility:

  1. Perceivable: Tools and information must be presentable in ways users they can perceive. (Avoid relying on any one sense, such as sight, to understand or operate your form.)

  2. Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable. (Ensure users can operate your form using a keyboard alone, as well as with a touchscreen or mouse.)

  3. Understandable: Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable. (Use plain, concise language and standard practices.)

  4. Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies. (Keep your technology up to date.)
