We have been actively working in the school district since 2005 to enhance, enrich and expand educational opportunities for all our students. Since our inception, we have used our status as a not for profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation to raise funds and in-kind contributions that have been returned to the school district in programs and projects benefitting students and early childhood education.
Grant Program - Since 2007, we have awarded more than 100 grants totaling over $125,000 to projects created and developed by staff members or students in our district. These grants have impacted Early Childhood Education, Community Education, all our elementary and middle schools as well as Burnsville High School and our Alternative High School. Each project has directly benefitted students in the district and has carried a wide-ranging impact for students, staff, their families and our community.
Scholarship Program - In 2017, the Foundation took over the role of hosting and facilitating the annual Burnsville High School Community Scholarship program. This year $121, 250 in scholarships was awarded to 84 seniors in a virtual Community Scholarship Awards Ceremony.
Your sponsorship will cover the costs of printing applications, event program, certificates, supplies, and light refreshments made by our BHS Culinary Arts students (when possible)
Grant Gala - The Gala is postponed until we can we hold in-person events safely once again.
Our Valentine Grant Gala is the kick off to the Foundation 191 Grant Program. Guests join us at both regular and VIP tables for a sit-down dinner with guest speakers, a silent auction, wine and beer raffles and more!
Outdoor Event - This sponsorship is for creating new outdoor COVID-friendly family events.
Last fall, the Foundation planned a Halloween Trunk or Treat, which brought in over 800 pre-registrations. In the spring, we're hoping to put together an outdoor food truck festival for the community.
For many years we have raised funds for our grant program through an annual golf tournament and an annual dinner event as well as from employee and individual contributions. During this unprecedented time of COVID 19 those events will not be able to be held. So, we are exploring ways to move to online fundraising and curbside events. And, to ensure we can continue to provide these opportunities to our students, the Foundation is seeking financial support in the form of sponsorships and/or direct donations.
In addition, as a Signature Sponsor, you have the option of receiveing Foundation 191 Sponsor gifts. The gifts are optional and vary depending on your Sponsorship level.
Foundation 191 is always accepting silent auction items. If you have an item or service to donate, please contact us and we will work to match your in-kind donation with our fundraising needs.
Silent Auction Item - As part of our fundraising effort both in-person and virtual, the Foundation is seeking items and services to include in an auction. If you have an item or service you would like to donate, please contact us for more information.
