Overview and Guidelines

Overview

The Student Services K-12 Program will provide assistance with meeting the basic school needs of enrolled Comanche children attending Kindergarten through the 12th grade.

 

Student Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an enrolled Comanche Nation member. Children pending enrollment will not be accepted.
  • Must be enrolled in public, private, or boarding school.
  • Must be enrolled in Kindergarten through the 12th grade.

 

Home School Students

Current school year home school curriculum receipts are to be submitted with application. If student is home schooled via online charter or virtual academies, a letter on official letterhead is required.

 

Application Process

Parent/Guardian applying for the child must the legal/custodial parent, legal guardian or caseworker at the time application is being processed.

The parent/guardian must submit a new application (one per child) each school year.

It is the policy of CN K-12 Student Services that all information regarding the status of the application be given only to the legal parent or guardian of the student unless other wise stated.

All completed applications must be submitted to the program office. Applications must be complete with all required documents before assistance is rendered.

Assistance will be given in a form of a gift card for the purchase of clothing and/or school supplies. Handle gift card(s) as if it were a credit card, check or cash. Lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced. Valid ID is required upon card pickup.

Completed applications are processed by date received.

 

Required Documents

  • Tribal enrollment card or letter.

  • Report Card for the previous school year (will accept progress report or awards) or form letter

    completed by student’s school official or a class schedule for middle and high school students.

  •  Legal documents (custody order, power of attorney, etc.) stating legal custody/guardianship of student, if applicable.

 

Documents being submitted electronically need to be in one of the formats: PDF, JPEG, or PNG.

 

Receipts

Receipts are to be returned to the Program Office.High School Seniors

High school seniors will receive assistance towards the purchase of cap/gown/announcements OR senior portraits. If a deposit is required, it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to make this payment. All payments for senior orders are made to the vendor. K-12 Student Services Program will not provide reimbursements on senior orders.

The vendor must have a completed W9 on file with the Comanche Nation Finance Office before payment is rendered.

 

Acellus Tutoring

Acellus Tutoring is available to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. School Referral Forms are available in the program office.

 

Exclusions

The K-12 Program does not assist with the following: Pre-K/Head Start; Day Care; Musical Instruments; Vocal Lessons; Senior Rings; Prom; Homecoming; Cheerleading; Sports or Sports Gear; Camps; GED; Job Corps; Private Schools; Summer/Night School; ACT/SAT Testing; Driving School/Drivers Ed; Leadership Conferences; Home School Curriculum; Laptops/Desktops/Tablets or Post High School Special Needs.

The following are not permitted: toiletries; consumable items such as foods/drinks; gas; cell phones; phone cards, game cards and music cards; sports gear; make-up; body sprays/colognes; purses and accessories.

 

Privacy Note

Student information may be shared with other Comanche Nation Educational Programs (e.g. CN Higher Education).
