Who you are

Cognito Forms is hiring an experienced Controller to oversee all aspects of accounting and financial operations. This role will be instrumental in ensuring accuracy, transparency, and efficiency across financial processes while providing strategic insights that support the company’s continued growth.

What you will be responsible for

  • Own the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and monthly close.

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial statements and management reports in compliance with GAAP.

  • Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring precision and efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures that strengthen accuracy and audit readiness.

  • Build budgets, forecasts, and cash flow models, providing clear visibility into revenue, expenses, and profitability.

  • Oversee vendor payments, payroll, and expense management with a focus on cash flow optimization and compliance.

  • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and accurate filings.

What you should bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA is a must).

  • 7 + years of progressive accounting experience, including 3 + years in a Controller of senior accounting role.

  • Experience in a SaaS business model is preferred.

  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and accounting systems (Xero or similar).

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial results and communicate clearly to leadership.

  • Proven ability to design efficient processes and lead system improvements in a growing organization.

  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
