Who you are
Cognito Forms is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to help manage our day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting.
You’ll play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records, improving accounting processes, and supporting the continued growth of our business. You’ll work closely with leadership and have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What you will be responsible for
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
- Lead the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with quarter-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with GAAP.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
- Support payroll accounting and monthly payroll reconciliations.
- Help develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and documentation.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and annual filings.
- Monitor compliance with debt covenants and lender reporting requirements.
- Monitor ongoing compliance with sales/use taxes; support preparation and timely filing of tax returns.
- Partner with leadership on forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to drive business decisions.
What you should bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA preferred but not required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience preparing financial statements and leading month-end close. Experience working in a SaaS company is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Experience with accounting software (Xero preferred or similar ERP/accounting systems).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
- Collaborative and self-motivated, with a growth mindset and a genuine interest in leveraging automation and technology to streamline finance processes.
