How It Works

  1. Enable Google Maps APIs
    1. Log in to your Google Cloud account
    2. Navigate to the API Library and enable the following APIs:
    3. Maps JavaScript API
    4. Places API
  2. Create and Configure API Key
    1. In the Google Cloud Console, go to APIs & Services > Credentials
    2. Click Create Credentials and select API key
    3. Restrict the API key:
    4. Under Application restrictions, select HTTP referrers (web sites) and add *.cognitoforms.com/*
    5. Under API restrictions, select Restrict key and choose both Maps JavaScript API and Places API
    6. Save the API key
  3. Add API Key to Cognito Forms
    1. Log in to your Cognito Forms account
    2. Navigate to your organization’s Settings > Integrations
    3. Select Google Maps and enter your API key
    4. Save the integration settings
  4. Enable Address Autocomplete in Form
    1. Open the form builder and add an Address field
    2. Click on the Address field to edit its settings
    3. Toggle on Address Autocomplete
    4. Optionally, set a default country and remove the Country subfield to limit suggestions to a specific country
  5. Test the Integration
    1. Preview your form
    2. Begin typing an address in the Address field to see real-time suggestions
    3. Select a suggested address to auto-fill the address fields
