How do I transfer ownership of my organization in Cognito Forms?

We do not recommend transferring ownership of an organization by simply giving a new user access to your username and password. To maintain the security and integrity of your personal account, always have users create their own accounts then give them permission to access the intended organization.

If you want to give another Cognito Forms user ownership of your organization, you can easily do so:

  1. Select your profile image in the top right corner and then select My Account.
  2. In your Organizations list, select the name of the organization that you’d like to transfer.
  3. Go to the Users section. Invite the new user to your organization using their email address and assign them Owner permissions.
  4. Once they’ve accepted your invitation, click Leave Organization at the bottom of your Organization Settings page.
