If you use webhooks or 3rd party integration apps such as Microsoft Power Automate, Zapier or Make, we have good news.

We’ve recently expanded what you can do when integrating Cognito Forms with your other apps and services.

These new capabilities can help you better leverage the data you collect, automate your work, and get more value from your Cognito Forms account.

We added a new trigger

Entry Deleted trigger

Whenever an entry is deleted from a form that uses this trigger, it sends a notification that the entry was deleted. This notification contains all relevant entry data. However, file links and entry links will not be sent.

This is a new capability available to users of Zapier, Power Automate and Make.

Four actions now on additional platforms

Update Entry action

This new action gives you the ability to have an external record system populate a Cognito Form entry with that data. This is especially useful when you’re using that data in a Lookup field.

Prior to this, you could use a Create Entry action to populate data in a Cognito Forms entry. However, you now have the ability to keep your external data up to date in Cognito Forms automatically.

This is a new capability available to users on Zapier, Power Automate and Make.

Set Form Availability action

Apply this new action to turn your form on or off with Google Calendar (or another app). For example, if you have an event in Eventbrite, reaching an attendance limit could turn your form off.

This action has been available to Zapier users, but is a new capability available to users on Power Automate and Make.

Get Document action

Easily retrieve documents generated by Cognito Forms, such as custom documents and free standard documents.

If you have an entry and you know your document template ID, you can grab the generated document.

This is a new capability available to users on Zapier, Power Automate and Make.

Get File action

Retrieve files that have been uploaded to your forms via the File Upload field.

This enables workflows where you need a file to persist in the workflow for a few days. Currently, the link to the file expires 30 minutes after being successfully sent via the action.

This is a new capability available to users on Power Automate and Make.

Webhook retry logic

We also recently updated our retry logic for webhook users.

If our system does not receive a ‘success’ 200 HTTP response code after sending a POST request, it will automatically initiate a retry mechanism. This helps provide reliability during temporary network problems or whenever an outage occurs on your server/application.

Please note that 404 (Not Found) and 410 (Gone) responses are not retried.
